Extraordinary Pens – Parker 61 Heirloom

This 1955 Parker 61 Heirloom First Edition capillary-filler in Burgundy is a very rare model. The pen has a two-tone GF “Rainbow” cap with “First Edition” plaque mounted below the clip. It has the barrel engraving: “To Ray Spaulding 61 First Edition” followed by Kenneth Parker’s signature. These were given by Kenneth Parker to special people to celebrate the launch of the pen. Extraordinary Pens – Colorado Scissor

We wrote about the scissor barrel configuration some time ago, but here we have an actual 1945 Colorado double-barreled, double nibbed piston-filling scissor barrel vintage pen. This model is in the Red Laminated finish, with red dot and white dots on the gripping sections so you can identify your inks. Extraordinary Pens – Pelikan M620

In 2005, Pelikan released the M620 City Series: Piazza Navona Famous Places Special Edition. This piston-filling fountain pen is quite pretty, in semi-transparent amber with bronze elements. It has gold-plated trim,  including the bands on the cap, barrel, and upper lip of the gripping section. New-old-stock. Mint. One available with a two-toned 14C, fine nib. Item #52 in Catalog #76

Extraordinary Pens – Montblanc Masterpiece

This 1950 Montblanc 642-G Masterpiece piston-filler is in the beautiful green striped with a gold-filled cap in the “Alternating Pinstripe and Plain Panels” pattern. Two-toned, medium, flexible nib. There is some fading of the turning knob, otherwise near mint. The gold-filled cap complements the golden tones in the green striped barrel perfectly. It’s a very attractive combination. Extraordinary Pens – Soennecken Rheingold 915

This 1933 Soennecken Rheingold 915 is a button-filler in black, with gold-filled trim. This is a top-of-the-line model. The cap top has the “Starburst S” logo in it. The black sleeve surrounding the button on the bottom of the pen screws into the barrel so the user can depress the white button and fill the pen. Extraordinary Pens – Waterman Ink-Vue

This 1939 Waterman 5116 Ink-Vue Demonstrator (rare) with Amber celluloid barrel and Black cap with gold-filled trim. The lever hinges in the middle and is then pumped several times to completely fill the barrel. The Ink-Vue demonstrators were Waterman’s answer to the Parker Vacumatic. This speciman has a few dings in the plastic, but is otherwise near mint. Two available: (1) Medium nib; (2) Medium nib with a tad of flex. Item #245 in Catalog #76

Extraordinary Pens – Waterman Art Nouveau

This 1910 Waterman (4)12 Black Hard Rubber fountain pen has a signed “Sterling” overlay in the Art Nouveau pattern. These rare, early, electroformed silver overlay Watermans, with their recessed barrel overlays, have only before been found signed “Fine Silver” or “.999 Fine Silver,” not signed “Sterling.” I thought it may be an error, but my research clearly shows that the electroforming process can be used with both Fine Silver and Sterling Silver.
