This extraordinary vintage pen is a 1930 Aurora Duplex Large lever-fill in Jade with Black ends. The “Duplex” was Aurora’s first celluloid pen. Vintage Pen Aurora Etiopia This is a 1936 Aurora Etiopia eyedropper-fill “Trench-Pen” in Ivory Casein. GFT, including the wide “Greek Key” cap band in the center of the two narrower bands. Aurora’s marketed the pen as having been manufactured for Italian military officers who were engaged at the time in the war in Abyssinia (Ethiopia), it was never commercially available in shops and the fact remains that it is a very rare item. Aurora Leonardo da Vinci Fountain Pen

This fountain pen is a 2002 Aurora Leonardo daVinci Limited Edition – numbered #0470/1919. The pen is a lever-filler in Bordeaux resin with a gold-plated cap, featuring lacquer filled engravings drawn from the Maestro’s codex on the flight of birds. The filling lever is accessed by unscrewing and removing the barrel. Tapered, 18K, fine nib. New-old-stock. Mint in original box with paper weight and outer sleeve. Item #61 in Catalog #83

Handwritten Post – Catless Writers

I realize my handwriting in this is atrocious. My apologies. Please don’t be angry. This is a modern Aurora, and looks far different than the older-style Auroras that are still available. Cats are inconvenient when you’re trying to write or type, but that’s half the fun of having them. It’s cute until they start biting your fountain pens, anyway. I keep hearing Aurora made some great pens, so I’ll have to scope them out.

Not So Vintage: Aurora Optima Demonstrator
