Vintage Dip Pen Figural Desk Set
This 1900 Anonymous Dip Pen Figural Desk Set measures 10″ x 5″ x 3/4″ with a grey marble base with beveled front edge and one pen storage groove. The base is adorned with a large figural bird sitting on a tree trunk and an inkwell with a hinged top and porcelain insert. The bird figure and inkwell may be bronze (I don’t know for sure – I can tell you that they look cast and a magnet does not stick to them). Very attractive. The accompanying dip pen holder is sterling silver repousse with a “Falcon” pen nib. The pen has its original patina – will polish on request. Near mint+. Item #73 in Catalog #84.
