1943 Eversharp 6$4 Fifth Avenue LF set in Burgundy with 6$4 factory imprinted on both 14k caps. Martin L. Strauss bought the shaky Wahl Co. in 1939 and by the early 1940’s, with their sponsorship of the radio show “Take it or Leave It,” both the phrase “The $64 Question” and the Eversharp Pen Company were known coast to coast. Strauss sold tens of millions of dollars of Skyline and Fifth Avenue pen and pencil sets. It’s believed that the few of these pens and sets which have solid gold caps factory imprinted “6$4” caps (like this example) were not sold but were awarded as prizes on the radio show, and are therefore extremely rare. Fine nib. New-old-stock. Mint in box. Photo of pen with packaging

1926 Parker Lucky Curve (not Duofold!) In Jade (translucent). In 1926, in answer to Sheaffer’s very popular Jade pens, Parker introduced three sizes of a Jade Lucky Curve pen. In all respects except name, it was identical to their very successful Duofold counterparts. Parker was afraid the color would fail and didn’t want that to taint their very successful line. By 1927 the Jade pens officially became Duofolds (the Lapis Duofolds were introduced at the same time). Today these pens are highly sought by collectors and are very rare due to their short production run. GFT. Fine nib. Minor color darkening here and there, otherwise near mint. Curiously, the cap band has an imprint “J. L. Book 9-8-25.” This would lead us to believe the Jade Lucky Curve was actually available some months earlier than the 1926 date generally thought of as its release date.

1974 Parker 75 Keepsake cartridge/converter-fill in smooth Sterling Silver. Cap band with Nieman Marcus script logo. It failed in the marketplace and was discontinued a year later, making them very rare today, especially the versions made for high end stores such as Cartier, Tiffany and Nieman Marcus. CPT.
