Hi, I am looking at your pen display tray for displaying old handgun ammunition. I have in the past used a foam similar to your plastic for batteries and covered it in leather for a very neat, tidy, professional look. Is the back side the same as the front with ridges and valleys or is it flat? How wide are the slots that the pen sits in and how ridged are the trays? Do you think they could be covered in leather with no issues?
Hello Tom, I know that other folks have used our slotted trays for ammunition. I don’t know if anyone has covered them with leather, but I know some have applied a felt covering. I can send you a small sample piece to try out, if you wish. The slots are 7/8″ on center. They are vacuum formed, so the back side is the opposite of the front (wide ridges and very thin valleys). I hope this is helpful. Very best, Gary
