Extraordinary Vintage Pens

Catalog 68 (September 2013)
1
1915 Parker 39 “Forget Me Not” in Gold Filled with 27 semi-precious garnets and amethysts. Only 3 or 4 known to exist! Original list price was $20. Fine nib. Near mint. You’ll never find another!
$22500

2
1936 Aurora Etiopia eyedropper-fill “Trench-Pen” in Ivory Celluloid. GFT, including the wide “Greek Key” cap band in the center of the two narrower bands. Aurora’s marketed the pen as having been manufactured for Italian military officers who were engaged at the time in the war in Abyssinia (Ethiopia), it was never commercially available in shops and the fact remains that it is a very rare item. The cap adorns an engraved eagle and the blind cap unscrews for ink pellet storage (still containing original pellets). Broad, extra-flexible nib. Slight discoloring here and there, far better than 98% of the examples found of this excruciatingly rare pen. Near mint.
$4500

3
1925 Montblanc 8 Rouge et Noir Safety eyedropper-fill in BHR. Extra-fine, flexible nib. Red star. No barrel imprint; no turning knob imprint; some cap imprint wear (not fully readable). While there is the imprint wear, the pen is physically in near mint condition, with crisp knurling, no cracks or scratches, and is still an excellent example of one of the largest size Rouge et Noir Montblancs. Would be $8000 to $9000 without the imprint wear.
$6000

4
1932 Montblanc Stylographic BF in Red & Black Mottled. GFT. Odd pen, with the 3/8″ tall, non-knurled inner cap, usually found on the Model 15 and Model 17.5 PK-filler. Unusual unsigned “Teardrop” clip. Crisp, unusual barrel imprint which includes the country of manufacture (“Germany”). Very probably made for export, most likely to France. Medium/fine nib. A little clip brassing, otherwise near mint. Red Mottled Montblancs are very, very scarce!
$1500

5

$1750
