1908 Conklin #3 in BHR with gold filled Overlay in “Three-leaf Filigree” pattern. Rarer than the four-leaf pattern (see Catalog #26, Item #60). Very early slip cap model, with the barrel only imprinted “3” and the manufacturer’s identification on the crescent. Wonderful heart shaped indicia (shown in picture), smartly engraved in fancy script: “R.S.G.” A tad of overlay edge brassing and a minor surface scratch here and there, otherwise near mint. After publication I found a small crack in the nib from the left side of the vent hole. Quite a rare pen! Fine, flexible nib
