Wahl Eversharp Skyline Command Performance Fountain Pen Pencil c. 1941 uncataloged. This is only the third known pen, and second known pencil in this pattern known to the market. Both pen and pencil are engraved. Pen barrel has 2-3 small dents, pen barrel mouth by threads has one crack, tapered end of the barrel has small cracks as well. Pencil has no damage. We suspect this damage was caused by the stress over time of the gold as a result of it going through the deep drawing process during manufacture to create the Skyline’s iconic barrel taper. Later methods of production on the much more common smooth solid gold pens seem to have corrected this fault. Restored. Correct early medium Skyline teardrop nib. Restored.
